We can direct bill for shockwave under acupuncture, chiropractic, physiotherapy and massage (with the respective practitioner). Shockwave is offered by Paiton (registered massage therapist), Sabrina (acupuncturist), Becky (physiotherapist) and Taylor (chiropractor).

Our acupuncturists specialize in orthopedic and sport medicine based acupuncture treatments for injuries, pain, musculoskeletal or neurological complaints. They have had supplemental training with advanced needling techniques, orthopedic evaluation, manual muscle testing, rehab exercises/stretches, myofascial release techniques, and mobilization methods.

We pride ourselves in offering acupuncture treatments that are well-rounded with adjunctive modalities such as deep tissue massage, cupping, guasha, shockwave, or PNF stretching. Our acupuncturists are required (and prefer) to offer more than just needling in their sessions, as we believe the combination of therapies render better results and provide the patient with a better experience.

Lyndsey Brasseur is a Licensed Acupuncturist and a Certified Sport Medicine Acupuncturist in Sherwood Park. She specializes in the treatment of pain, orthopaedic and sport injuries, neurological disorders and musculoskeletal complaints. She has supplemental training in orthopaedic evaluation, manual muscle testing, advanced needling, mobilization techniques, rehab stretches and exercises and the study of anatomy through cadaveric dissection.

Lyndsey’s treatments involve a lot more than just needling - she incorporates myofascial work through cupping, guasha and massage during each session. She will use Traditional Chinese Medicine when appropriate, but her treatments differ from TCM acupuncture, in that she works predominantly with the musculoskeletal and nervous system.

Born and raised in Sherwood Park, Dr. Taylor Jacula was heavily involved in competitive soccer. Throughout her soccer career she sustained several injuries which introduced her to the world of sport science and rehabilitation. She graduated with distinction from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree. After graduating she worked as a kinesiologist, learning from and working closely with chiropractors and it was through that mentorship that her passion for chiropractic began. Dr. Jacula attended the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon graduating summa cum laude with both a Doctor of Chiropractic degree as well as a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology degree.

Sarah studied massage therapy and acupuncture at MacEwan University, and completed NAIT’s personal training program prior to this. During her time at NAIT, Sarah played for the Ooks volleyball team. In 2014, Sarah suffered from compartment syndrome in her right leg, underwent ten surgeries and as a result has 30% muscle deficiency in her calve. This injury made her eligible to play on Canada’s women’s sitting volleyball team. She has attended the 2019 Parapan Am Games in Lima, the 2022 World Championships in Bosnia, the 2023 World Cup in Egypt, and the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. Her journey with compartment syndrome and her subsequent experiences with alternative health practitioners lead her to pursuing a career in complementary health.

Sarah has a keen interest in treating athletes, musculoskeletal and orthopedic complaints due to her personal experiences with pain and history with competitive sports, and has been trained in orthopedic evaluative testing, manual muscle testing, postural assessment, and advanced needling techniques.

Paiton is working towards the title of becoming a Certified Sport Massage Therapist. She has completed CSMTA’s advanced sport massage therapy course and is working on her hours with the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) and Western Canada Hockey League (WCHL) to become a sport fellow.

She has completed the 3000 hour Advanced Massage Therapy Diploma at Makami College during which receiving Honours of Distinction for overall performance, practical, and theory work.  Her areas of focus are: injury/sport rehabilitation , myofascial release, pre/post sports massage, deep tissue massage, Swedish relaxation massage, plantar fasciitis therapy, cupping therapy, graston technique, TMJD massage and pregnancy massage.

Sabrina Stroud is a registered Doctor of Acupuncture and a Certified Sports Medicine Acupuncturist. Having recently completed her training in the Sports Medicine Acupuncture program, she has been offered the opportunity to serve as a Teaching Assistant for the program.

Sabrina combines the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine with Sports Medicine Acupuncture to effectively address a range of issues, such as musculoskeletal pain, injury recovery, stress management, and performance enhancement.
