Lyndsey Brasseur is a Licensed Acupuncturist and a Certified Sport Medicine Acupuncturist in Sherwood Park. She specializes in the treatment of pain, orthopaedic and sport injuries, neurological disorders and musculoskeletal complaints. She strives to get to the root cause of her patient’s issues and her treatments are designed so that her patients can continue to excel in the activities that they love, whether they be high level sport or the enjoyment of day to day activity. Born and raised in Sherwood Park, Dr. Taylor Jacula was heavily involved in competitive soccer. Throughout her soccer career she sustained several injuries which introduced her to the world of sport science and rehabilitation. She graduated with distinction from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree. After graduating she worked as a kinesiologist, learning from and working closely with chiropractors and it was through that mentorship that her passion for chiropractic began. Dr. Jacula attended the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon graduating summa cum laude with both a Doctor of Chiropractic degree as well as a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology degree.
During her time at UWS, Dr. Jacula learned a variety of treatment techniques such as chiropractic manipulation/mobilization, soft tissue manipulation and exercise prescription. Through further continuing education courses, she has since been trained in techniques such as Active Release Technique (ART), instrument-assisted soft tissue manipulation (IASTM), cupping and taping. Sarah studied massage therapy and acupuncture at MacEwan University, and completed NAIT’s personal training program prior to this. During her time at NAIT, Sarah played for the Ooks volleyball team. In 2014, Sarah suffered from compartment syndrome in her right leg, underwent ten surgeries and as a result has 30% muscle deficiency in her calve. This injury made her eligible to play on Canada’s women’s sitting volleyball team. She has attended the 2019 Parapan Am Games in Lima, the 2022 World Championships in Bosnia, the 2023 World Cup in Egypt, and the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris. Her journey with compartment syndrome and her subsequent experiences with alternative health practitioners lead her to pursuing a career in complementary health.
